چکیده

Camera calibration is the process of estimating the parameters of the camera. There are two sets of parameters for a camera: intrinsic parameters, and extrinsic parameters. It is generally assumed that we know the coordinates of a set of points in the world reference frame and their corresponding points in one or more images. The notations used and the general problem of calibration is described in Section 2. Most of the times we use a calibration device for which the relative position of points on the device are known with respect to a point on the device. Two such devices are presented in Figure 1. Section 3.1 describes in detail one such method that performs camera calibration. It is also possible to perform Self Calibration, i.e., extract the intrinsic parameters using a moving camera and a set of point correspondences only [3] or from two views of a purely rotating camera. A brief description of these methods is provided in Section 4.

New approach for calibration of pixelated scintillation detectors of intraoperative gamma cameras

Introduction:SURGEOSIGHT is a dedicated intra-operative hand-held gamma camera designed and manufactured by our team to be used for lymphoscintigraphy. Although conventional gamma cameras are widely used, they lack the capability of the sentinel lymph node (SLN) imaging in the operation room. Like conventional gamma cameras it is necessary to calibrate SURGEOSIGHT for linearity...

Chapter 1 CAMERA CALIBRATION

Camera calibration is a necessary step in 3D computer vision in order to extract metric information from 2D images. It has been studied extensively in computer vision and photogrammetry, and even recently new techniques have been proposed. In this chapter, we review the techniques proposed in the literature include those using 3D apparatus (two or three planes orthogonal to each other, or a pla...

Impact of Camera and System Calibration on Photogrammetric Reconstruction Using Medium Format Digital Camera

Current advances in digital and electronic products have led to the availability of inexpensive and reliable Medium Format Digital Cameras (MFDCs) that can be used in many photogrammetric applications. In this research, the impact of camera and system calibration on object space reconstruction is investigated under different georeferencing scenarios (i.e., indirect georeferencing and integrated...

Classiication of Camera Calibration Techniques

This paper examines camera calibration in a general setting and considers a number of factors which can be used to distinguish between diierent calibration procedures. The factors are model complexity, parameter classiication, measure of model t and numerical solution. A number of calibration procedures are examined and classiied by these factors. Finally, some possible improvements to current ...

Camera Calibration from Symmetry

This paper addresses the problem of calibrating a pinhole camera from images of a surface of revolution. Camera calibration is the process of determining the intrinsic or internal parameters (i.e. aspect ratio, focal length and principal point) of a camera, and is important for both motion estimation and metric reconstruction of 3D models. In this paper, a novel and simple calibration technique...
